4th of July Parades in Minnesota

A good, old-fashioned parade is some of the best (free) summer fun our family enjoys, and what better day to attend a parade but the 4th of July?  Minnesota has a grand number of parades to choose from, and we should be proud of this.  My sister recently moved to the Denver area and had to search high and low to find an Independence Day parade!  Last year, we went to Delano’s parade, deemed the biggest and oldest in the state, so this year I think we’re going to find a different one.  Or maybe a few.  Wouldn’t a whole day of parades be fun?

If you’d like to attend a 4th of July parade in Minnesota, here’s a listing of many of them for 2011.  For future years, please double-check dates/times/locations for the community you’re interested in.  If you know of another parade, please comment at the end of the post.

Happy birthday, America!

A number of years ago we were driving from Hartford CT. to Maine on the 4th of July. Instead of taking I-95 we decided to cross the state. As we approach some small town in Mass. the police closed the cross street in front of us and we got the unexpected bonus of watching the local parade. Fortunately it was short and we were soon on our way.

    Worth the delay.

That’s absolutely a fun activity this summer. I enjoyed and let my eyes swell from attending parades. I also enjoy the foods while waiting for it to pass our way. Surely all ages enjoy this post. Keep up the good work!

Elysian has a wonderful old fashion 4th parade, fireworks, turtle races, etc. This little town gives a lot on this day. It is between Mankato and Faribault.
