Frugal Fun in the Cities: Minnetonka Orchards deal at Living Social
This is another act-fast deal, as it’s good for purchase today (10/4/10) only. Must be used by October 31.
Weekend Admission for Two ($11) or for Four ($22) plus lunch and access to all attractions at Minnetonka Orchards in Minnetrista, Minnesota. The LivingSocial site says, “Each package also includes lunch and access to a variety of attractions like apple picking, hayrides, a corn maze, and more.”
If you’re planning to head to an orchard on one of these October weekends, you may want to consider this deal. Last year, Minnetonka Orchards charged $4 entrance on the weekends, which included hayrides and other activities. I can’t find the current price on their website. It also doesn’t specify what is included in your lunch, but assuming a $4 regular entrance fee, $1.50 extra for something to eat isn’t a bad deal.
Notes: I don’t believe there’s an entrance charge on weekdays (and then you pay extra for tractor rides, etc.), so this wouldn’t be a good deal if you’re planning a weekday visit. Also, the Minnetonka Orchards website says there aren’t many Honeycrisps left on the trees for pick-your-own (although they do have plenty of pre-picked for sale) so if you have your heart set on picking Honeycrisps, this may not be for you.
We visited Minnetonka Orchards last year and enjoyed it. Other orchards we like: Deardorff Orchards near Waconia, and Holmberg Orchard near Vesta, MN.
