From the Archives: What to Do with Kids in Chicago
It’s been three years since our family vacation to Chicago, even though it seems like yesterday. Our oldest child was six then, and he was a trooper as we walked from the train station to the Field Museum, which we later learned was more than three miles. The other kids were all small enough that we had them in strollers for that trip.
I wouldn’t hesitate to return to any of the places we visited in Chicago, although if we’d go again, we’d probably find some new things to do as well. All of the places listed below, however, are family-friendly places that both kids and adults will enjoy.
Family Things to Do in Chicago
- Sears Tower (now called Willis Tower, I believe)
- See also the humble beginnings of Sears.
- Museum of Science and Industry
- Notebaert Nature Museum
- Lincoln Park Zoo
- Graue Mill
- Field Museum
- DuPage Children’s Museum
- Chicago History Museum
- Art Institute of Chicago
