I also want to thank you for all your blogs, gave me a lot of ideas. My husband and I moved to Minnesota ten years ago and don’t have any families and did not grow up here. We have two young kids. Every time we plan on doing some regional travel or just going to the State Fair, I always check out your site for tips. Thanks!

When my oldest was in kindergarten, I created a similar type book to not only entertain while we waited in line, sat at restaurants, and traveled in the car, but practice some of those skills we had been learning in school. I bought a small notebook and had pages that were dedicated to the ABC’s where she would list things that she found that began with each letter, pages where she could record the odometer readings at different points in the trip and practice writing her numbers, and pages for recording “My Favorite …”. It really occupied her time and finding it a few days ago after many, many years it was quite an entertaining trip down memory lane for me!

I am glad I am not the only one who travels with a detailed travel book like yours. My friends think I am crazy but I think I am prepared and having all that info at my fingertips is a lifesaver. Plus they are so fun to make!
