October in Minnesota

It’s October 10.  This morning we awoke to something that we usually don’t see for at least another month.  Even here in Minnesota.

Snow Leaves Minnetonka Orchards

The snow stuck around for most of the day, making for some interesting photos.

Now we are in a winter storm watch for the coming days, and hoping we still see some sunny and warm days this fall. Almost all of our corn and soybean crops are yet to be harvested, making an early arrival of winter more than just an annoyance.

But for today, it was kind of fun.

    Hello,
I was wondering do you know the kind of apple in your photo? I have a apple tree and have not figured out what type they are yet. Plus we find that a few frosty nights the apples taste better than if you pick them before the frost hits!!
    Thanks

You pictures scares me. This will be my first winter in a place it snows in 12 years and 21 years since being in a place with a LOT of snow. If it is snowing in Minnesota, New England can’t be far behind.

On second thought, thank you! If it snows next week I will be less freaked out. Stay warm.
