The Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Other than the Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell was the kids’ biggest trip highlight.  Even our three-year-old remembers it and when she sees a picture of it, says, “There Wiberty Bell.  We goed there already.”  What a neat thing for a child to be able to say!

The Liberty Bell is housed in the relatively new Liberty Bell Center.  Admission is free, but visitors must go through a security check before entering, which involves removing coats and having bags checked.

There is a display area, but to be honest, the kids pulled us right to the Liberty Bell so we didn’t get a chance to look at the exhibits.

A National Park Service ranger is available to answer questions about the Liberty Bell, and we learned several new things from the ranger.

The kids loved seeing the Liberty Bell and were awed at how big the crack is.
