It was made at the confluence of the Licking and Muskingum Rivers. This is the 5th version of the bridge(1984): the 1st was a wooden toll-bridge built in 1814.

We have sayings like, &quot;Just go to the middle of the bridge, then turn right,&quot; and, &quot;.. the only bridge that you can cross and still be on the same side of the river.&quot;</description>
