Statue of Liberty in Shadow

Statue of Liberty Shadow (B)
My seven-year-old son took this picture with his little digital camera.  Think he has a future in photography?  (And if you can tell me how to remove the yellow date, I’d be grateful. I’m photoshop-illiterate.)

Wow, I would definitely say that he does have the eye for photography. I’d play with the magic wand tool to capture each number and then fill with black but I’m no Photoshop guru.

Wow, you have a great little photographer in the family!

Very promising! As for the yellow stuff, most cameras have it where you can keep it from being imprinted…turn it off by going into the menu system and look for it.

That’s a terrific photo! He should keep at it.

As for photoshopping the date out, the easiest way I have found is to use the clone stamp tool. It looks like a stamp in your menu. You place it over the area with the same color you want (in this case, the black shadow) press (alt) and click. Then you click and drag over the place with the numbers. It will cover it right up. (Just use extra care near the treeline)

    Good luck! :)

    Great photo!

Maybe you could crop the photo a little and remove it that way?

You should be able to go into your camera settings and take off the datestamp.

That is a great shot! I love finding great pics on the camera that the kids take. I think my 5 year old will be loving photography by the creative shots I find from her, lol.

Very nice picture, period. But especially nice for a 7 year old. Now if I can just get my son interested in his Fisher Price camera we got him a couple Xmases ago.

As mentioned above, using the “Clone Stamp” tool in PS will do the trick.

Your 7 year old did an excellent job on that photo. I bet you are proud of him. He has the eye of a shutterbug!

    Very nice!

If you send the me the raw file, I can take that date stamp off for you. :) My 12 years of graphic design should be put to good use on things other than work! :)

You can use the clone stamp, like others above have mentioned. Just make sure you save a raw copy just in case. :)

Ditto all of the above – what a nice photo for such a little guy! And try the clone stamp – that should work. I don’t use photoshop, but my girlfriend uses that feature all of the time and loves it. (How else would I know?!)
