SixSuitcaseTravel: New Resource for Finding Large-Family Hotel Rooms

Published by minnemom at 8:15 am under Places to Stay Tags:

I was made aware of a new site when its owner commented here at the beginning of our trip; I wish I had known about it sooner because it would have made my trip-planning much easier.

SixSuitcaseTravel is a site that lists, by state and city, hotels that can accommodate six people in a room.  If you’re a family with four children, and thus excluded from many standard rooms, you’ll want to take a look at this site.  Based on the research I had done while looking for rooms, it’s very complete, and it includes some hotel chains that I wouldn’t have bothered checking after years of “sorry, but this room can only accommodate…” messages.

If you’re a family of six looking for a hotel room, this should be your first stop.  As our vacation plans changed, it was the first place I looked in booking a room in a different city.

This is awesome Linda! Your blog is so consistently useful, AND you have four kids, AND you travel a lot. It makes me wonder when you sleep.

Thank you! Even as a family of 5, a regular room is often too small (the big boys are getting BIG!). I’m heading over to check it out.

This is fantastic! As a family of six we often just don’t fit into a hotel room, and with another baby on the way I’ve been wondering how we’re going to travel. Suites help but you can’t always tell ahead of time if you’re getting a pull-out sofa.

Yup, found that site when I was reading yoru comments – way cool! I have it bookmarked! We have 4 kids as well, and with 3 we would sneak one in ( and probably still will while baby is in playpen and 4 year old fits in toddler blow up mattress…. but eventually….

That a great tip, thanks Minnemom. Is it cold out there? Just starting to thaw out here after our Big Freeze.
