Notes from the Road, Day 13
Today we did a few things in Pittsburgh and we were certainly glad to have the GPS to guide us. Roads there aren’t like in the Midwest where they go straight and flat. We went up the Duquesne Incline, which is surprisingly stable for something built in 1877, but still didn’t mesh well with my fear of heights.
Then off to the children’s museum to meet a friend; this was a good stop for the kids before we headed back to Ohio.
Mealtimes were completely off today, as was bedtime. Dare I hope the kids will sleep late tomorrow?
We’ve still got one bag of tricks left for keeping the kids occupied in the car; we’re fortunate to not have needed it yet. We’ll save it for the longer of our two driving-home days.
Since we’ve been gone, we’ve completely ignored the weather and news in Minnesota. Any word on the Senate recount? Will we return to two feet of snow in the yard? I suppose we’ll have to think about that soon!

Don’t you just love the GPS

Last I read Franken was up by 49, but they are still counting.
Carm’s last blog post..Peep.
Yup, the Star Tribune Web site is still saying Franken has a 49-vote lead as of the update about 10 minutes ago (about 1:30 p.m. EST).
They’re still arguing over the Absentee Votes, but a spokesperson for Sen. Reid’s office is speculating that Franken will be certified as the winner. And it still sounds like the whole thing will end up in a protracted legal battle, no matter what the Board of Canvassers says.
Between y’all and the Gov. in Illinois, it pretty much wiped Detroit’s political scandal off of the radar…for the moment, at least. Thanks!
Meanwhile, hope you and your family has a happy new year and a safe trip home!
