After a quiet day in the hotel, some of us started feeling better.  Mid-afternoon I drove out to Valley Forge to pick up some information; we’re hoping to do the driving tour tomorrow when the visitor’s center is closed.

Hubby was still under the weather, and the youngest fell asleep while reading stories after supper. so we left them behind and the older three went with me to Christmas Eve church.  It was a beautiful candlelight service with a small congregation, and afterward we had the benefit of the pastor and a parishioner giving us sightseeing tips for the area while the kids played with some new friends.

I don’t know if it’s because we’re not at home, because there’s no snow on the ground, or because they remember that we opened gifts at home before we left, but the kids haven’t mentioned one word about presents.  Santa will bring them a little something overnight (if they ever go to sleep, that is!)
